eDisk™ Functional Specification

1.      Block-based storage sharing, supporting Fat12/16/32, NTFS, Ext, Ext2, Ext3 file systems

2.      Multiple time-stamped disk snapshots allow instant 1)system recovery or each user disk, that can be initiated by the system administrator: based on snapshots generated by the system and created by the system administrator; 2)each user: based on snapshots created by the user or by the system administrator; 3)system: based on snapshots created by the system administrator;

3.      Server’s DASD(disk) can be backed up onto and restored from another DASD, which may not be of the same capacity or of the same interface(such as IDE versus SCSI)

4.      Any client’s disk image can be designated for sharing with otherclient

5.      Default: 25 connections for each server
